Note

Rebecca was born around 1830 in the village of Bletsoe, in Bedfordshire, England. She was christened that year in the local parish church.

In the 1841 census, Rebecca (aged 10) was living with her parents at Whitwick Green, near Bletsoe. She was working as a lacemaker at that time.

In the 1851 census, Rebecca (aged 21) was unmarried and living with her parents at Whitwick Green. She was still working as a lacemaker.

In 1855, Rebecca was married to John CHURCH in Bletsoe. She would have been around 24 years old at that time, and John would have been around 27 years of age. John was the brother of Rebecca's brother-in-law, George CHURCH. It seems that Rebecca and John did not have any children.

In the 1861 census, Rebecca (aged 30) and John (aged 33) were living in London End Cottage, in the London End of John's home village of Milton Ernest. John was working as a labourer at that time. They appear to have been living next door to a farm known as 'Church Farm', but it is not known whether this was connected to John's family in any way.

In the 1871 census, Rebecca (aged 40) and John (aged 43) were living at 1 Radwell Lane, in the hamlet of Radwell, near Felmersham, in Bedfordshire. John was employed as an agricultural labourer and Rebecca was a lacemaker. Rebecca's niece, Rebecca CHURCH (aged 11), was also present at their home on the census day. She was also a lacemaker.

In the 1881 census, Rebecca (aged 50) and John (aged 53) were living at Radwell Lane, in Felmersham. Rebecca was working as a lacemaker and John was an agricultural labourer.

In the 1891 census, Rebecca (aged 60) and John (aged 63) were living in Felmersham. John was employed as an agricultural labourer. Rebecca was described as a lacemaker who was not currently employed.

In the 1901 census, Rebecca (aged 70) and John (aged 73) were still living in Radwell Lane in Felmersham. John was employed as an agricultural labourer.

Rebecca died in the June quarter of 1904 in the Bedford Registration District at the age of 73.

John's fate has not yet been determined.
