Note | In the 1891 census, Rebecca (aged 31) and James (aged 30) were living at 1 Clay Hall Cottages, in Reigate, Surrey, England. James was employed as an agricultural labourer. They had three children; John (aged 2), Elizabeth (aged 2), and baby Nellie (aged 7 months). They also had two lodgers living at their home; Albert PETERS (aged 21) and John GATLAND (aged 17), who were both agricultural labourers. In the 1901 census, Rebecca (aged 41) and James (aged 40) were still living in Clay Hall Cottages, near Clay Hall Farm, in Reigate. James was employed as a cartman on a farm. They had six children at home; John (aged 13) who was working as a domestic garden boy; Nellie (aged 10); Annie (aged 8); Dorothy (aged 6); Ethel (aged 5); and Alfred (aged 3). Their daughter Elizabeth (aged 12) was visiting Gamers Hall, the household of Nimrod WALTER (aged 55), in Reigate, on the day of the census. |
