Note | Edward's surname is sometimes given as HOLDING or OLDIN. His origins are not known at this time, but there seems to have been a few HOLDEN families in the county of Huntingdonshire, who may have been related. Edward was married to the recently widowed Susan MASTERS in 1794 in the village of Roxton, in Bedfordshire, England. They appear to have settled and raised their family around Roxton. Their first child, Mary, was christened there around 1796, with their remaining known children following; Edward in 1798, Thomas in 1800, Susan in 1802, and James in 1805. Most of their children appear to have also settled and raised their families in the Roxton area. |
