At the time of his death in 1880, William's parents were named as James William DAVEY and Elizabeth WILLIAMS, and his age was given as 85 (ie. born c.1795). This information was probably provided by his wife, Susanna. At the time of his marriage in 1855, his parents were named as James DAVEY and Alice WILLIAMS, and his age was given as 51 (ie. born c.1804). This information was probably provided by himself. It is not clear which of these two might actually be the more reliable, but I have arbitrarily chosen to use his own data. This would have made him 76 years old at the time of his death, rather than 85.
