| Note | Bertha was born at Hopetoun West (Vic) in 1898. Her parents were farmers in that area. Bertha married Oliver FRANKEL in 1918, when she was about 20 years old. Oliver was 29 years old at that time. They appear to have lived around Hopetoun after their marriage. Their first child, Daphne, was born at Hopetoun in 1919. She was followed by Oliver in 1921, William in 1922, Percival in 1924, Laurence in 1926, and John in 1927. The FRANKEL family seems to have moved to the dry north-west of the state around 1928. Their next child, Vernice was born at Werrimull (Vic) in 1929. Peter was also born there in 1933. By 1935, when Shirley was born, they had possibly resettled around MIldura (Vic), on the Murray River. Their last child, Patricia, was probably also born around that area in 1936. Bertha died in Mildura in 1962. She was 65 years old when she died. Oliver died there just a few years later, in 1968, at the age of 78. They were both buried in Mildura. |
