Note

Betsy was christened in 1827 in the village of Colmworth, in Bedfordshire, England. Her mother died in 1838, when Betsy would have been around 11 years of age. Betsy's sister Mary went to live with their Aunt Mary and Uncle William CHAPMAN in Goldington, near Bedford, in Bedfordshire, when their mother died. Their father remarried in Bedford in 1849. It is not known what happened to Betsy or her brother Samuel after their mother died. Samuel married in Colmworth in 1850 and raised a family, but nothing more is known of Betsy. She may have married. She is yet to be identified in any census returns. There was an Elizabeth YERRELL married in St Neots, nearby in Huntingdonshire, in Q Jun 1847. It may be worth checking her out in the 1841 census. There are four grooms named on the page of the marriage index; Charles COX, Samuel HOCKLIFFE, William MOORE, and Charles WRIGHT.
