Note

In the 1901 census, John (aged 41) was living at Deeping St Nicholas, in Lincolnshire, England. He was employed as an agricultural labourer. He appears to have had a family, but the exact structure has not been proven. His wife seems to have been Emily (aged 35), and they probably had seven children; John (aged 14) who was working as an agricultural labourer, Annie (aged 12), Fredrick (aged 11), Jane (aged 9), James (aged 8), Samuel (aged 6), and baby George (aged 1). From the birth places of their children it would seem that John and Emily moved around very frequently over the years.
