Note	George was still learning his trade as a cabinet maker in the city of Bedford, in Bedfordshire, when his sister Ann emigrated to South Africa in 1819. He was not married by that time. There was a George ROWNEY who died in the September quarter of 1838 in the Bedford registration district. This has not been verified as the same man, but it seems likely.
