Note

A person named William WAGSTAFF was buried on the same day as William ROWNEY at Potton, in Bedfordshire, England in 1790. They possibly may have been step-brothers or cousins.

NOTE: A William ROWNEY reportedly of Langford was chosen by lot to serve in the British Army in February 1763. It is not known whether it was this man, however only one other reasonable alternative has been identified. The other man was married and having children around the time in question, so he may seem a less likely candidate, however he was living at Southill, which is closer to Langford, so either man could have been the one.
