| Note | The following record from the records of the parish of Potton, in Bedfordshire, England, probably relates to Sarah: OVERSEERS of the Poor, Bastardy - Examinations of Mother - [Access Conditions] microfilmed, see MIC 184/42 FILE - Sar. ROWNEY, mother of male bast. ch. born on 3 Nov 1780. - ref. P64/15/1/1 - date: 15 Jan 1781 Sarah seems to have had three illegitimate children; Robert (1780), William (1786), and Joseph (1788). Sarah appears to have married Joseph BRIN at Potton in 1788. Their marriage is dated just a week or so before Sarah's apparently illegitimate son Joseph was christened. A sourced entry in the IGI suggests that baby Joseph was later known as Joseph BRIN. |
