Note

In the 1901 census, May (aged 18) was working as a servant for fish and game dealer Wilfred MUDD (aged 29) and his wife Mary (aged 31). They lived in a shop on High Street in Kettering, Northamptonshire. Mary MUDD's sister, Annie JARVIS (aged 34), a milliner, and her friend Annie DOGGETT (aged 38), a clothing outfitter, were also staying at their house on the day of the census.
